Penland School of Crafts
Penland School of Crafts is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The school was founded in 1928 by weaver and teacher, Lucy Morgan. Morgan retired in 1962 and Bill Brown, a sculptor and design teacher, took over as director. Brown transformed the school by expanding program offerings. The school offers workshops on glass, metals, photography, printmaking and letterpress, textiles, wood, books and paper, clay and drawing.
